Today is the First Day of Fall! Happy Autumn to you from the studio. At the first of each season, I share a newsletter about recent happenings and offerings. Thank you for being here! This past season, I was able to rest and reflect on my own calling as a picture maker and I am grateful. I had a full and quiet season of drawing. I created illustrations in a group course led by The Good Ship Illustration and I reflected a lot on what is important to me. I believe that we all have a piece to play in our life. Often the clue to what your piece might be is that it is something that brings you peace. All of us has a calling. You, dear reader, have many important commissions on this long walk toward eternity. In this world, and especially in this year, we need you to do the good work you are called to do. In this era of mass media, we are bombarded with many things that demand our attention. It feels loud and heavy. On this eternal walk, we can end up walking in circles or sitting on the roadside. We can get confused and begin doing the work that others are meant to do. Each of us need to look for the piece that brings us peace and focus on offering that back into the world. That good work will sustain us and no good work is done in vain.
