An Exhibition at Mattawoman Creek Art Center in Southern Maryland

Exhibition Description: As children, we accept that good triumphs over evil. This understanding is embedded in our fairy tales, films and proverbs. As we grow up, we begin to see the imperfections around us. For many, these experiences lead us to no longer believe. This series celebrates the belief that one day, all will be set right. We are not passively waiting but we can see glimpses of Heaven, now. Perhaps you have a different word for it, but I’m certain that we all have experienced moments of wonder, awe, and pure goodness. What is that? What kind of explanation do you give to those experiences? For the past 3 years, I have captured heaven on earth in paint and cut paper collage. The result is a large collection of everyday wonders: the quietness of home, the admiration of fresh snow, or a walk into the woods. When are you a witness to the heavenly realm? If you look for Heaven - you will find it every day.
